Friday - Sunday, September 24-26, Another fine weekend. Had beautiful weather and did fun stuff.

On board for the weekend... hell yeah.

On Friday night we had dinner at Rosy Tomorrow's a unique historic eatery in Danbury.

Mer and Jord ...uhhh,are you guys like, finally ready to order?

I love cute guys ...who can fly. I met one on Friday night.

Fun with Family. On Saturday I went up Hartford with my Dad and various family members to visit my Aunt. Here Jord and I pose in Daddy's cap. I think I look better, she thinks she looks better. Cat looks on, offering no opinion. Guess beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.

Did you ever see the movie Phone Booth? Jord and I are auditioning for a remake.

We had lunch a Rockledge Country Club in West Hartford. Outdoor dining overlooking a golf course.

The long ride home... In this triptych Jordan attempts to entertain herself by playing games and sending text messages from a "purely functional" Nokia 6010.

Dashboard Diva - Jordan sprawled on the hood of my Acura MDX. Photo taken from driver's seat.

Jordan was bored again so she decided to lie down next to a cactus plant.

Got back to Danbury at about four. The afternoon was beautiful so we headed right over to our beautiful local golf course, Richter Park, for a drink on the patio.

Later we hit the road for Bethel and the nostalgic Sycamore Diner it's a real throwback to the 50s. I made this montage of the neon signs and a shot of the interior. The Dagwood Burger is incredible, I highly recommend it and...

...Saturday night is Cruise Night at the Sycamore...featuring classic cars and live music.

What is it with me and old cars? I just love them...specially red ones!

Sexy Interior - Got this shot just before we left. Check out the reflection in the glass and the swimsuit girl inside.

Montage of cool old car's and and a retro gas pump. Note: that's Cat's shadow on the fule pump.

Ice Cream Dreams - We ended the evening at Il Bacio. Here's Jordan trying to decide what to order. As always she ended up with a plain chocolate cone.

Sunday was beautiful. About noon I left for Kent and the Antique Machinery Festival. Passed this covered bridge along the way...so New England.

The first thing I saw at the festival was an old tractor with a funny name...at least I found it funny.

then I saw these pretty pulleys all in a row...

check out this collection of old car mirrors.

Later on I met up with my friends William and Nancy who came up on their Harley. William knows everything about everything, especially when it come to machinery, and Nancy always looks beautiful. How's that for a couple?

I fell in love with this ducky sprinkler...too cute! But it cost $1200. Slightly beyond by budget.

Steve, Dave and burgers. I can't remember what these gentlemen were presenting but they asked me to take their picture so I did.

It seems that in it's day the Crosley was considered "a fine car".

Here's the interior of "a fine car". It doesn't look too fine to me...

this interior is more to my liking...

Or this one...yes, Cadillacs are...comfortable.

My Future Ride - Before leaving the festival entered a drawing for this MG...Even though I never win anything, this time I feel like I'm going to. But what's that guy doing lusting over it? Keep away! It's mine!

On the way back through the charming village of Kent I stopped in a dive bar where I met these friendly biker dudes.

Biker chick takes aim, prepares to shoot a deer. I hate to admit it, but I love playing this game.

So I finished my drink and continued on throught the pastoral, beautiful town of Kent. All in all it was the perfect September weekend in Connecticut. How great is that?

Saturday-Sunday, September 18-19 - Remnants of a hurricane on Saturday, a dinner at our house on Sunday.

The weekend was half/half. Saturday it poured rain all day, the remnants of hurricane Ivan. Sunday was much better. Had some friends over for dinner on Sunday night. Ate and drank a lot. mmmmm, fun.

This is the view out my dining room window on Saturday afternoon as the rain was tapering off. Fall is definitely approaching. Sunday was fine. We had some friends over for dinner...

...and this was the table I set, inspired by my role model, Martha Stewart, who, it seems, will soon be residing near by at the federal prison.

I was really excited. I got to use the antique french place card holders I found last year at "Le marché aux puces" in Paris...each one is a little bud vase - too cute. Please note also my Cartier salt and pepper shakers. Uber sexy...love them.

Sadly I didn't get any photos of dinner. I guess I was too busy serving it. This is what we drank though. Before dinner we had Moët & Chandon Brut Imperial Rose, which was sublime. With dinner we had a Chassagne-Montrachet and a Syrah, "La Sizeranne", which were both quite perfect. Oh, and Bob drank Grolsch...which is very cool.

...for desert I made five different flavors of sorbet: Mango, Kiwi, Raspberry, Lychee and Cantaloupe.

After dinner in the front parlor we had coffee. Eli, Charlie, Bob and Mary...and Nick's legs.

Gerry and Eli ... behind them are lots of old books I've never read.

...and after everyone left, I gathered my precious little place card holders and Cartier salt shakers and put them away for next time.

Sunday, September 12 - A great day for Greenwich.

When the weather is flawless, especially in early September, I love spending time in Greenwich, the mythical town of my youth. Anyway we were feeling like some oysters and a really good white wine, and we knew where we could get that. We also had an invite to "Luxury on Greenwich Harbor"...

so,we decided to go for lunch at l'escale and check the Robb Report party out later. These two chic ladies had the same destination in mind.

Nick on the terrace, deciding what to order. In the end we had a great bottle of wine, a Chassagne-Montrachet Grand Cru and and several dozen fines de claires. Totally délicieux.

Across the way the patriotic beach boat was pulling out of the harbor...one of the final runs of the summer I suppose.

I was wandering around in the lobby and I saw something ...amazing...futuristic and retro at the same time...

It was the car of my dreams! In this photo I'm thinking, "soon this will be mine".

Of course the interior is totally in keeping.

Damn... I look good with this car. I've simply gotta get me one. Where there's a will, there's a way, right?

We walked next door to the Delamar Hotel where the Robb Report party was in full glitzy swing. I was totally underdressed but it didn't seem to matter, guess I have street cred here in town. There were tons of lux cars there, but I wasn't impressed. I suppose I'm somewhat jaded ...now. Anyway, the hotel was very 21st century Greenwich, but...

across the sound, as always, there were family boats in the harbor...

...and across the street was Manero's the Greenwich steakhouse that's been around since ...the last century.
